Femme Fatale Hair, Smokey Eye, Lips

Finger Waves:

Equipment:

·      Mousse/hair polisher
·      Comb
·      Clips
·      Net
·      Hair dryer

Instruction:

·      Dampen hair with water.
·      Run a hair polisher/mousse through the hair using a comb.
·      Using the comb, comb the hair in a backwards direction away from the face. Make sure to go all the way through the section of hair.
·      Create the first wave by securing this hair with your finger.
·      Comb the hair in the opposite direction, then push the hair up with the comb to the finger and hold down the gathered hair with another finger.
·      Secure this hair with a clip.
·      To create the next wave, place finger where the clip is and comb back the hair again.
·      Push the hair up with the comb and secure with your finger.
·      Again, secure the hair with a clip.
·      Repeat this technique until you have created this pattern to the desired length.
·      Place a net over the hair and dry the hair.
Once the hair is dry, release the clips.

Sleek Pontytail:

Equipment:

·      Heat defense
·      Straighteners
·      Hair dryer
·      Round brush
·      Comb
·      Mousse
·      Hair tie
·      Grips

Instructions:

·      Apply heat defense to the hair and straighten in sections.
·      Using a hot hair dryer and brush, create a sleek finish by holding the hair dryer close to the hair and brushing.
·      Section hair into a centre parting and comb mousse through hair to catch fly away hairs.
·      When happy with the finish, secure hair with a ponytail and two grips. Pin hair tie to hair, wrap around hair tie, then secure with the other grip.

·      Brush ponytail to create a neat finish.

Femme Fatale Hairstyles:

In class, we were put into groups. Each group had a leader who had to direct us on creating two hairstyles on different models that would be suitable for a femme fatale look.

We chose to do a slick sectioned ponytail with the parting in the centre. There was a section in the centre, which was brought back off the face. To create the shiny finish, we applied heat and mousse to the hair and smoothed with a comb and disposable mascara wands.

Practising Creating The Perfect Lips + Smokey Eye:

The key to this was making sure that the lips were symmetrical. Not all lips are naturally symmetrical, so observing the natural shape and correcting with colour is vital.

For the perfect smokey eye, start with the lightest colour and gradually blend in the darker colours. With the darkest colour, focus on the lash line, crease and outer eye to create a 3D effect.
